Yesterday, we weren’t planning to stand at Nasdaq’s market opening ceremony.
And then… we were.
A quick conversation. A simple question: Should we do this?
And just as quickly: Yes.
No overthinking.
No long debate.
No waiting for the “perfect” conditions.
One moment, we were going about a normal day. And the next, we were standing in one of those iconic, high-energy spaces where you can feel the momentum of something bigger than yourself.
Some of the most meaningful opportunities rarely arrive with perfect timing or full clarity.
We’re taught to be… Thoughtful. Strategic. Prepared. But sometimes that turns into over-analysis, waiting for the “right time” and missing the window entirely.
Because opportunity doesn’t schedule itself around your comfort.
In that moment, you have a choice: do nothing or go for it!
When I look back, some of the most defining moments in my life didn’t come from a plan (and I am such a planner). They came from a pause… and a yes.
Yes to roles that stretched me.
Yes to opportunities that felt just a little out of reach.
Yes to moments where I didn’t have everything figured out, but I knew I wanted to be in that room.
One of those moments came when I said yes to speaking at an alumni summit.
At the time, it was simply an opportunity to share a point of view.
But that single yes turned into something much bigger— a platform, a voice, and a path to continued speaking opportunities I hadn’t even imagined.
That’s the thing about these moments. They don’t just happen in the moment.
They create momentum.
And momentum has a way of opening doors you didn’t even know existed.
We spend a lot of time asking, what if it doesn’t work?
But what if we flipped the question?
What if this changes everything?
Yesterday, we said yes.
And it mattered more than we realized.
Because just one week from now, we’ll be at the Women’s Bond Club Gala—
a moment to recognize trailblazers, and lift up the next generation of leaders.
And that unexpected Nasdaq moment?
It became an amplifier.
A reminder of why this work matters.
A reminder to step into the spotlight when the opportunity presents itself.
A reminder that sometimes the timing doesn’t need to be perfect—just the decision.
So here’s the question…
What’s one opportunity in front of you right now that you’re overthinking?
The one that feels exciting, but slightly inconvenient.
The one you keep revisiting, but haven’t acted on.
Maybe it doesn’t need more analysis.
Maybe it just needs a yes.
